Grandparents Day became a national holiday on Sept. 6, 1979, and is celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day, but Hallmark began making Grandparents Day cards in 1978. We love grandparents and know you do too. They are very special and form an immediate bond with us when we are newborn babies. As we grow we cannot wait to spend as much time as possible with them. Remember having your first sleepover at grandma’s and grandpa’s house? Did they “bend” any of your parent’s rules or did you get a treat after dinner? Of course you did because that is what grandparents do.
We remind them of what it was like when our parents were little and growing up. Hearing the pitter-patter of footsteps or being hugged by their grandson or granddaughter means the world to them. Our grandparents mean the world to us, so celebrate Grandparents Day and give them a card letting them know how much you love them and how important they are to you. Hallmark has dozens of Grandparents Day cards and gifts for you to choose from.
